Creative Brief

Here you will find (almost) everything you've ever wanted to know about who I am and what I do.

Job: Copywriter, Technical Writer, Marketing Writer and Editor.

Where I Work: A marketing agency with a number of other artists and writers.

A Day in the Life: One of our clients is the world's largest appliance manufacturer.
I am currently developing product sales training for them, which includes online e-Learning courses, instructor-led presentations, and in-depth training guides. A unique balance of technical writing and brand communication, these materials explain often complex technical information in a way that the sales associate can easily communicate to their customers.

5-Year Plan: Onwward and Upward. Manage more projects and bring it all together.
I enjoy the creative team environment and I like getting a project completed. When the client is happy, I'm happy.

When I'm not writing

I'm relearning web design.

That's right, RE-learning.

I first took an HTML course in 1995, but pursued other professional endeavors. Web design allowed me to publish my writing, music and even some podcasts (before the term "podcast" existed). I relied on much self instruction and research in the late 1990s and obtained solid, but rudimentary skills.

Things have changed, and they are changing constantly.

I am currently enrolled (online) at British Columbia Institute of Technology to obtain an Associate Certificate in Web Technologies. Hand coding is de rigeur. Validation of XHTML and CSS is mandatory. W3C standards are strictly enforced.
